Daniel Stagno was born in Hjo, Sweden in 1982. He studied piano at the Sibelius Academy in Finland, under Hamsa Al-Wadi Juris as well as at the Swiss-italian conservatory in Lugano with Alessandro D’Onofrio. He has also studied at the Academy of Music in Malmö, Sweden, under the guidance of professor Hans Pålsson. He received his Bachelor's degree in 2004 and his Master's degree in 2007.
Daniel Stagno is also a composer; his most important works so far consist of three piano sonatas, one string quartet and 16 songs based on poems by Gustaf Fröding. He has also composed piano pieces for the left-hand alone, of which some are based on poems by Tomas Tranströmer.
Daniel Stagno appears regularly in concerts in Sweden, Finland and Switzerland and has also performed in Great Britain, Denmark and Italy. He has also performed his own compositions on Swedish Radio P2.
